Nature never fails to fill me with peace and hope. After losing our mother and brother to cancer in 2020, my sister and I took a winter trip to Yellowstone. On our last day, we drove through a snowy Lamar Valley. As we approached the end of the valley, we found two bull moose grazing in the willows. The entire time we watched them, the younger, much smaller bull, was testing the older bull. The older bull was patient and tolerant of the younger bull’s antics. They browsed side by side, nuzzled, sparred and kept very close together. The younger bull often leaned into the older bull, reminding me of the words of the timeless song by Bill Withers “Lean on Me”-"We all need somebody to lean on..." It was definitely what we needed that day!
